I’m Marla, a Certified Lymphatic Therapist (CLT) and the owner of Hands On HealthCare Massage Therapy in Commack, NY. I started my career in health and wellness in 1998 when I became a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT). Two years later, I opened the doors of Hands On HealthCare. My team has been collaborating with healthcare providers from both Suffolk and Nassau county for over 20 years, and we’ve had the privilege of providing quality care to tens of thousands of patients. The quality care we provide has earned us the title of a recommended community provider for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. This recognition is a result of years of passion, dedication, and commitment to our patients. I’ve dedicated my life to helping others, and expanding my knowledge has been one of the best ways to do this. In 2006, I became a CLT, and the process of obtaining this certification included rigorous training in all aspects of the lymphatic system. I’ve also completed training to perform Oncology Massage Therapy and am an Expert-Level JB Myofascial Release Practitioner. My experiences and qualifications have allowed me to create a team of qualified and skillful therapists. Hands on HealthCare continues to grow by leaps and bounds. I’ve created a variety of programs and services, with our most recent being our Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (MLDT) program – a program that has helped numerous patients in the community. MLDT is most commonly known for the treatment of lymphedema. When performed by a Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist, MLDT can also treat a variety of medical conditions including-Postoperative edema -Herniated discs -Digestive issues -Migraine headaches -And many more All of our MLD therapists are certified through the MLD Institute and have completed additional training and mentorship with me to perfect their skills. I’ve been performing MLDT for 17 years, and I continue to be amazed by how much this type of therapy helps people. In addition to our MLDT program, Hands on HealthCare is a Certified Cancer Aware Center and offers services that include-Mastectomy Massage -Edema and Lymphedema sessions -Elastic Taping for Lymphatics -Strength After Breast Cancer program Our variety of programs and services ensures that each patient that walks through our doors will find the help they need. And all of our patients receive the best quality treatments from providers that truly care, like me. I’m committed to life-long learning, and my inspiration for this comes down to one thing: providing the best possible care to patients.
