I’m a writer, editor and award-winning journalist with experience in both digital and print platforms. I currently work as lead editor on the Education team at Forbes Advisor, where I write, edit and fact-check content about online degree programs and other higher education topics. Before joining Forbes Advisor, I spent five years as an editor at U.S. News & World Report, where I worked on projects including Best Companies to Work For, Best Jobs and Best Places to Live. I spent the first few years of my career as a reporter, and then as news editor, for local newspapers in Tennessee and Alabama. During that time, I covered events including local elections, a deadly tornado outbreak, a red carpet movie premiere and the economic impact of college football, in addition to countless school board, city council, county commission, and university board of trustees meetings. I also like to stretch my creative muscles with side quests. In 2024, I edited a book, “Hired Musician: A Guide to Getting and Keeping Gigs,” written by Mat Maxwell and Seth Costner, and I used Adobe InDesign to format the pages for publication. Also in 2024, I was a guest on the Wharton Business Daily radio show on SiriusXM, where I discussed U.S. News’ Best Jobs of 2024, what recent graduates should consider when choosing a career path and how artificial intelligence is part of the conversation now.
