About Kara Edwards

Kara Edwards is an experienced asset management executive with a strong track record of building and managing successful trading teams, and all phases of hedge fund launch and trading. In addition to her current role as a Managing Director at Freepoint Commodities where she is a portfolio manager, she is also a member of the ESG executive committee tasked with formulating global sustainability strategies, policies and reporting. In her prior position as an Executive Vice President at Astenbeck Capital Management, she partnered with The Blackstone Group to conceptualize, develop and launch ACM, the commodity and equities hedge fund led by Andy Hall which grew to AUM of over $4B at its peak. Prior to the launch of ACM, she served as a member of Mr. Hall's senior management team at Phibro Energy Inc, a subsidiary of Citibank and Occidental Petroleum, where she recruited and led a successful group of natural gas and power physical and financial traders, as well as credit, risk management, accounting and operations personnel while serving as head portfolio manager for over 15 years. In addition to her management experience, Kara is a member of The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment and has served on ad hoc Citibank Natural Gas M&A Management Teams, the NYMEX Natural Gas Advisory Committee, Natural Gas ISDA Committee, as Treasurer of the Board of the Westport Arts Center, Vice President of Blue Water Association, President of Gleason Street Townhomes, Philanthropy Chair of the National Charity League, Board Member at A Child's Place, National Charity League, and was elected to the Westport, CT Representative Town Meeting.
