About Kara McBride

I have six years of experience developing programming and events that drive engagement and develop a sense of community for diverse constituencies. With experience in marketing and communication, I have been able to develop my project management, creativity, and critical thinking skills to meet the needs of various populations. Having occupied various administrative roles across different institutions, I have been challenged to remain organized and adapt to changing leadership structures and settings. As a first-generation college student, I have seen the positive impact that mentors have had on my career journey, and I remain committed to a career that will focus on developing leadership in myself and others. In 2020, I received my Master of Arts in Leadership Development from Chapman University, where I learned more about the importance of building equitable communities in various organizational settings. This experience encouraged me to explore my core leadership values, which include self-awareness, integrity, humility, community, authenticity, empathy, equity, and inclusion.
