About Kara Mulvey

As a Community Engagement Specialist at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center (EBNHC), I collaborate with community businesses, city leaders, and the underserved to create a powerful network that drives meaningful change in substance use disorder (SUD) awareness and education. I have a degree in Organizational Development while also utilizing my Public Relations expertise to foster and grow city and statewide relationships.I also support the recovery and wellness of people with SUDs as a Recovery Specialist/Certified Community Health Worker and a Neighborhood outreach team member at EBNHC. I develop and implement evidence-based recovery programs and policies that address the needs of our diverse and vulnerable population. I partner with other health professionals, community organizations, Church leaders and stakeholders to promote a culture of recovery and compassion. I serve on the Board of Directors for Recovery on the Harbor, a nonprofit that provides peer support and resources, and I am a team member of the East Boston HUB situation table, where we fast-track services for extreme and complex cases. I am passionate about helping people recover from addiction and improve their quality of life, and I am committed to the mission and values of EBNHC.
