Background

About Kara Ryks

I am a Director-level leader with 15+ years of experience guiding complex, cross-functional initiatives in highly regulated transportation environments. My work centers on bridging strategy, capital delivery, and operations to ensure large-scale programs transition from concept to execution with clarity, efficiency, and long-term sustainability. In my current role, I lead operational readiness for major capital expansion projects, serving as the connective tissue between design, construction, and service delivery. I build governance frameworks, align diverse stakeholder groups, and standardize processes that reduce risk, control lifecycle costs, and enable consistent, repeatable outcomes. I’m frequently called upon to navigate ambiguity, broker alignment among competing priorities, and translate complex technical challenges into actionable decisions for executive leaders.
