About Kara Thayer

Experienced English Teacher with a demonstrated history of working in a variety of contexts, private school, traditional public school, public charter school, public policy, and education management. I am an education enthusiast who believes every child can develop the skills of Creativity, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Collaboration through the power of experiential and project based learning, and that personal relationships are the key to unlocking a student's innate motivation to learn. My professional experience has developed my skills in Communication, Curriculum Writing, Proposal Writing, Accreditation, Standards Alignment, Coalition Building, Education Technology, Public Speaking, and Event Management. My travels have deepened my cultural responsiveness, and admiration of language acquisition. Through formal education I've earned a Bachelor's degree with a focus on English Linguistics, and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from University of the Pacific.
