Karan Thaker is a Banking professional with over 9 years of progressive and diversified experience with some of the world's largest banks and brings with him years of international experience. He most recently worked with Scotiabank in the Corporate Banking & Credit Execution team, managing an asset portfolio of ~CAD 300MM with deal sizes ranging from CAD 50-75MM and contributed to the growth of the Bank's lending portfolio writing credits for adjudication by the Risk Management team. His previous experience includes 2 years with Deutsche Bank in the Credit Risk Management (Global Credit Ratings) team where he managed a portfolio of clients across Asia Pacific, assigning and maintaining in-depth fundamental credit ratings for all clients in the region and advising the Risk Management team with exposure reduction with any deterioration in the client's credit profile. He also worked with Royal Bank of Scotland, where he spent the first 5 year of his career in the Investment Banking & Corporate Advisory team advising clients on M&A advisory and capital raising plans. His domain expertise involves financial analysis, risk assessment and credit analysis. After spending his first few years understanding the Asia Pacific economy, he recently moved to Canada with the objective of enriching his overall experience, enhancing his knowledge of the world economy and also achieving personal growth.
