About Karen Avery

I graduated in May 2021 from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, in Lincoln, Nebraska, with a degree in Forensic Science with an emphasis in biology, along with a minor in biological sciences. In May 2018, I graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin, in Mequon, Wisconsin, with a degree in Criminal Justice and Public Policy. I currently work as a DNA Analyst at Bode Technology in Lorton, Virginia, and have been in this position as a casework analyst for a little over a year. Previously, while still at Bode, I have also held the position of Forensic DNA Technologist, in which I conducted laboratory procedures associated with the DNA analysis process. Being in these roles has allowed me to grow and develop many skills including, but not limited to, time management and organization, communication, self-motivation, efficiency, critical thinking, and flexibility, which I will continue to carry throughout my career.
