About Karen Bernard

In a land far, far away I joined a small marketing comms agency that grew to become a very large and successful agency. A great career move, but one that I must admit wasn’t planned. In fact, I started my career in HR - the move into the agency world was about as unplanned as you can get. A chance meeting that sparked up a conversation and the die was cast. Within 6 months I was hooked. What could be better and more rewarding than working with a team of talented creatives that could take the seed of an idea and turn it into a successful campaign. Hard work, long hours, but great fun. That was me 20 years ago, it’s still me today. Curious by nature, I am still passionate and enthusiastic about helping companies grow to realise their full potential. Time has moved on and I’m pleased to say so have I. I now co-own and run VGD. An agency specialising in digital products and marketing solutions, we take ideas from fruition to life. With a firm focus on how we can help you grow; we deliver pioneering solutions that don't just push the boundaries but also exceed expectations. Like a lot of good ideas (and businesses), VGD was borne out of a drunken idea, sparked by a fervent conversation in a sticky floored East London pub. We’ve come a long way since then and there’s no doubt that things have changed (though I’m still a fan of a sticky floored pub), but we’ve stayed true to our core values.
