Revitalizing troubled operations in fast-paced, time sensitive environments is what I do best. Developing and leading high-performance management teams and professional work forces is how I get the job done. I’m Karen Chamberlain. As a Senior Manager with more than 15 years, I’ve been proud to develop and lead operations organizations with as many as 160 professionals that have consistently improved the performance of FedEx operations in numerous facilities here on the East Coast. Along the way I’ve trained, mentored or coached individuals who subsequently became some of FedEx’s most reliable performers providing the exceptional customer service that has made FedEx a leader in its industry. It takes superior service to make a great brand in the logistics business and it takes a great brand to clearly demonstrate value to the customer. Without great people none of it happens. As a leader I’ve built many teams and developed employees into leaders. I’ve also served as an instructor delivering leadership classes that focus on developing individuals committed to constantly improving processes by proactively identifying and eliminating the root causes of systemic operational problems. I also know that great teams can only be built by leaders who embrace and effectively communicate the company’s mission and inspire ownership and execution of that mission in all levels of the organization Improved efficiency and profitability is a natural consequence when you have all the right ingredients in terms of both people and processes. There are opportunities for team building in all areas of life. Beyond FedEx I’ve utilized this skill to contribute to my community and improve the lives of house-bound seniors and Alzheimer’s victims while developing a company that now employs more than 40 individuals.
