About Karen Einstein
One of the things I love about working in the field of education is being surrounded by colleagues and students who value curiosity and critical thinking. I tend to be inspired by my students and feel I learn as much from them as they do from me. I enjoy engaging in action research with ideas borrowed from both Multiple Intelligence Theory and Social/Emotional Intelligence. Through this research I have discovered useful techniques to create and maintain motivation in the classroom as well as the staff room. I am particularly interested in creating a classroom/working environment in which the skills of active listening, critical thinking and supportive constructive criticism are fostered. My experiences with peer teaching, peer observation and team teaching have been extremely rewarding in many respects including the development of these skills. That said, I still have a great deal to learn and look forward to learning from everyone I meet.
