About Karen Gehers

Karen Gehers was raised on a small dairy farm in central Pennsylvania and returned to the agricultural industry in her professional life. Karen graduated from Selinsgrove Area HIgh School then Summa Cum Laude from Central Pennsylvania Business School with an ASB in Computer Information Systems. After graduation she took a temporary position with Kreamer Feed, where she would remain for 30 years. Education was important to Karen and she enrolled at Susquehanna University where she would graduate with honors with a BS in Accounting. Shortly after graduation, she was promoted to the Controller at Kreamer Feed. Karen continued her education in 2013 at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia where she completed a one-year Executive MBA program in 2014. Since June 2014 she has been doing some independent consulting and became the Finance Manager at Central Pennsylvania Workforce Development Corporation in November 2014. In 2016 Karen made another career change to an accountant at the firm of Wagner, Dreese, Elsasser & Associates, P.C. where she does bookkeeping, audits, and income tax returns. Karen's knowledge and experience provides her with a background to work with varied clients and industries. In her spare time, Karen enjoys spending time with family and friends, golf, bowling, and reading and loved following her son's soccer career throughout his college years. She also enjoys volunteering in the community, mainly through Soroptimist International where she is active both locally and on the region board.
