About Karen Long

I am the Founder/President of Streamline Government Contracts, LLC.(Streamline). Streamline’s premise is combining contract administration and business acuity. I began working for a Government Contractor in at their Corporate Office in Arlington, VA. Four years and four promotions later, I was promoted to Financial Controller. After the company went through a series of Accountants, the President/Owner promoted me to Financial Controller because I had a strong knowledge of Contracts, which was something the previous Accountants lacked. Regardless of my title (e.g. Prog. Manager, Director, Corporate Operations), due to the size of the company (approx.$2-4M), I was very involved in contract administration. Almost seven years later, I resigned because I was quickly approaching a deadline to finish a dual Master’s degree program (MS/MBA). After I completed my MBA, I worked for a few small and mid-size government contractors. It struck me how many of the CEOs were SME and incredibly intelligent, sometimes brilliant in their respective fields, yet often did not understand the requirements and nuances of Government Contracts. I decided that instead of working for one company, I could start Streamline and share my knowledge and experience with numerous businesses.
