Achievements- Designed and created a new monitoring system working with all the technical teams to ensure all monitoring and alerting was migrated from the old insecure system to new system. Impacted 400+ systems ranging from Windows and Linux servers to websites and network equipment. Automated parts of the process to speed up the transition, reduce human error and made future upgrades simpler- Leveraged a remote operating system building process, I previously designed with some modifications and converted a majority of the external servers from an unsupported operating system for greater security and stability- Coordinated with lead project manager and team members on the project to migrate part of our infrastructure to the cloud, helping develop the migration plan while learning new technologies and practices. Worked on PERT chart to maximize parallelization to ensure project completed during the required maintenance window- With a consultant, designed & built a resilient logging system, then worked with multiple teams to ensure a smooth migration from the old system to the new one, with minimal downtime, and no loss of functionality- Engineered an automation process for building the OS for our physical servers. This allowed the servers to be shipped directly to remote locations and use simple remote hands for connectivity, instead of shipping them to an office first to physically connect to them for building or sending someone to the remote location. This was done under tight time constraints and allowed the company to spin up new required infrastructure to support a new client- Designed and implemented an automation process for the monthly patching of the Linux operating systems. This ensured these systems stayed secure, without taking time or resources from our system administrators each month- Improved infrastructure, approaching continuous delivery with new configuration management system as we migrated to a new OS, evaluating multiple new options and maintaining two systems to ensure smooth transfer of software.
