About Karen Monteith

I am the Divisional Operation Manager for Natural Resources Canada, GSC Calgary. Having worked in multiple provinces I have had to opportunity to work with, and get to know, incredible people who are making a difference in peoples lives. My core competencies include real property, service contracts, and property management systems, which enable me to deliver high-quality facilities management services for the AGGV. I have successfully conceived, developed, and executed strategies for renovations, repairs, fire/life safety, security systems, HVAC, electrical, and elevators, ensuring a safe, secure, maintained, and accessible facility for staff, visitors, and users. I have planned, organized and executed the largest and longest running arts festival on Vancouver Island incorporating artists. I also hold multiple certificates in effective communication, design thinking, people leadership, and change management, which empower me to work with honesty and integrity, be community-minded, and focus on making impactful change. I am passionate about being part of a team of bold and dynamic thinkers who set the standards, strive for continuous improvement, and make a difference in the lives of others.
