About Karen Riptoe

I am an administrative professional with over 25 years of experience. In 2018 I completed my Masters in Communication (3.94 gpa). Currently, I work full time, am a second year intern and a clinical MSW student. I have built a solid career in communication and administration. During my career I became interested in the correlation between interpersonal communication and problem solving best practices which led me to complete my first masters. The MA program opened my eyes to the synergy of communication and social science which led to my current Master of Social Work pursuit. Over the course of 25+ years I have- Supported the top-tier initiatives of a top ten university- Gained a deep understanding of cross-community interconnectedness- Recruited and trained volunteers for a local nonprofit- Created, edited, and published countless training manuals, books, and multimedia projects- Functioned as a Creative Services Executive, providing scripts, production, post production, volunteer training, public service announcements, and multimedia advertising. I am focused on continuing my education and gaining expertise to further my career with a focus on micro- and macro-level interventions within my community.
