About Karen Skunta

Ms. Skunta is the president and creative director of Karen Skunta & Company (KSCO), a boutique design firm located in Cleveland’s historic warehouse district. Karen leads a talented team of design professionals and has gained recognition with over 200 national awards in corporate and brand identity, branded environments, exhibit design, wayfinding + signage systems and digital media. As a founding member of the AIGA Cleveland Chapter and later a national board member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, Karen has pursued excellence in design and raised the standards in the northeast Ohio community. In recognition for her effort she was awarded the honor of AIGA Fellow in 2001. She taught three-dimensional design and the business of graphic design at Kent State University for 10 years. She has been an invited judge for national design competitions and served as a judge on the Design Arts panel of The Ohio Arts Council. She is currently on the board of the Cleveland Play House and the Cleveland Institute of Art.
