Humanism for Karen is what life is all about; quite simply we should treat others as we would want to be treated ourselves. Enjoy the one life we have and try to make the most of every day. I've been Humanist all of my life, certainly long before she knew what Humanism was. After attending a relative's funeral and feeling let down by how impersonal it was, it seemed only natural that she become a Humanist Celebrant so that she could help bereaved families feel that they really celebrated the life of their loved one (warts and all!) It's a real honour for her to help pay tribute to a life that has been lost through the creation of ceremony that celebrates their life. Humanist weddings are wonderful, sincere, fun, creative, individual. She could go on forever! But in all seriousness, a Humanist Wedding is dignified, unique and authentic. Karen will work closely with you to create the ceremony that reflects you as a couple whether you want this to be fun and relaxed, elegant and formal or a mixture of all. For many happy couples the whole wedding experience can seem quite daunting, where do you start? What do you have to do? How do you create your dream ceremony? Don't worry; Karen has lots of great ideas to help get you started and if you know what you want your ceremony to be like she can help make it a reality. Karen will work closely with you to create a memorable ceremony that is professional and unique. Karen had a long career in social services and after twenty five years found herself thinking more and more about other ways shecould support people. That thought turned into a reality when she took the plunge in 2014 and became a Humanist Celebrant which she now does full time. Being a celebrant is so rewarding and fulfilling. Karen lives in Irvine on the beautiful west coast of Scotland but is happy to travel. It gives her an excuse to see some of the wonderful wedding venues we have in Scotland
