About Karen Walker

As a medical director in respiratory immunology at Sanofi, I develop medical strategy related to assets in our respiratory pipeline for all non-asthma indications including, but not limited to, CRSwNP, COPD, SSc-ILD. As a Global Clinical Strategy Expert at Sanofi, I provided scientific and clinical leadership in the development and execution of clinical studies for the meningococcal vaccine franchise, focusing on the quadrivalent conjugate vaccine in India and South Africa, and the MenPenta US phase 1/2 trial. I oversee a cross-functional global team in a matrix environment, while ensuring patient safety and communicating with principal investigators and study sites. I have 14 years of clinical experience as a board-certified pediatric intensivist and pediatrician, and a background in pediatric informatics and EPIC electronic health record. I also held a part-time role as a Physician Informaticist at Cooper University Health Care, where I implemented pilot programs and new technologies, and acted as a liaison between clinical and technical staff. I am passionate about care innovation and digital science, and I have a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification with a proven record of quality, safety, and process improvement.
