About Karen Weymann

35 year career in commercial leasing and development-worked at May Centers, Grubb and Ellis, and Home Capital Corp before starting my latest adventure in 1996 at the Port of San Diego Real Estate department. Handled program management and lease negotiations for the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, as well as years of experience on the North Embarcadero Visionary Plan and other major projects including the Hyatt second tower, redevelopment of the Old Police Headquarters and Lane Field. Served as Director of Real Estate for 4.5 years, with a staff of 35 managing 700 documents and over 65 tenant project approvals annually. My experience is very deep with commercial projects through the entitlement and early development stages, redevelopment, asset management, approvals related to financing, construction, management agreements, and major sub-leases. Oversight on negotiations for major Port District tenants ranging from hotels, restaurants, marinas, industrial Issues, marine terminal operators, and harbor excursion operations. Recently transitioned into special projects related to real estate policies as well as management and development of port assets.
