About Kari Whitehead

As a Research Project Manager at the Center for Healthy Aging at Penn State University, I bring over fifteen years of experience in managing complex research projects and initiatives across various centers at Penn State. Holding a Master of Science in Nutrition from Penn State, my expertise lies in project management, developing research protocols, ensuring regulatory compliance, database design, data management and data visualization. I am also the Co-Founder of the Emily Whitehead Foundation, where I advocate for pediatric cancer research and cell and gene therapies. My work in this field has led to international speaking engagements, where I share the patient/caretake perspective and insights and advancements in pediatric cancer treatment, including cell and gene therapy. My expertise in the nonprofit field includes program management, event management, and serving as a patient advocate for clinical trial research. My commitment to continuous learning fuels my professional growth and enriches my research capabilities. I am currently working on a Master's Degree in Applied Statistics. I am also passionate about uncovering stories from the past and connecting individuals with their heritage and currently pursuing certification as a genealogist.
