About Karim Demmou

First, materials engineer, I discovered tribology (wear and friction science) by chance and I'm involved in since 20 years. I obtained my Phd. by developing a methodology for mechanical characterization of tribofilms. I developped my skills in tribology (kinematics, lubricant formulation, coatings technologies & formulations, standards & non standard tribological tests.) through 5 years leading development projects for several industries (Nuclear; automotive; aeronautics; materials forming.). It was a huge formative practice as the questions were tough, the timings tight, the challenges great. All the more so that I could rely on a trustworthy and competent team with whom I still have professional and personal relations. I'm now using these skills in the aeronautics field with new challenges in propulsion technologies and I lead the Tribology group for Safran Materials and Process direction.
