About Karima Cherif

Karima Cherif has been an integral part of assisting WildAid Marine and ANPN (Agence Nationale des Parcs Nationaux) in reaching their mutual goals in the protection of 23 Marine Protected Areas. Karima specializes in marine electronics focused on securing MPA's (marine protected areas) in a cost-effective manner. She has conducted feasibility reports and site assessments worldwide and provides state-of-the-art surveillance and enforcement technology such as thermal/IR cameras, acoustic sensors, radars, and surveillance boarding kits to WildAid’s in-country partners such as Ecuador, Galapagos, Tanzania, Gabon, and the Bahamas. Karima's background in aerospace and yacht restoration provides her with the foundation for fleet management and satellite surveillance. As WildAid Marine's Gabon country program manager, her role encompasses mentorship, execution of annual work plans, grant writing, oversight of social media, French translation verification, protocol development, and budgeting. In the role of the purchasing agent, Karima reviews equipment viability deals with vendor relations and is certified to ship dangerous goods worldwide.
