About Karin Klein
I began my career on the Research faculty at Northwestern University in the Department of Preventive Medicine investigating the role of diet and genetic biomarkers in breast and prostate cancer risk. I then joined a biotech start up firm where I led projects to design and validate genetic diagnostic tests. Having always been interested in education, I then spent 11 years teaching middle school science. During that time I became involved in a number of curriculum development and science educator professional development projects. I joined the Education Division at the Museum of Science and Industry in 2018 where I currently design and deliver professional learning courses and seminars for science educators throughout Chicago and the surrounding area. I have developed and written science curriculum for middle school and high school with teams at OpenSciEd and BSCS Science Learning.
