About Karin Luelff

I started my professional career in 1988 as an English teacher in adult education. Later I moved on to translating scientific texts from English to German and vice versa and eventually specialized in medicine and pharmacy. On this basis I became a certified translator in The translations I did mainly focused on the following indications: cardiovascular, respiratory, gastro-intestinal, anaesthetics, endocrinology, oncology. During this period I acquired general knowledge in anatomy, general and special pharmacology and drug law and passed a corresponding examination before the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Frankfurt (Oder). I also worked as a trainer within and organized the courses preparing for this examination. Wondering where all the safety and efficacy data in the documents I was translating for regulatory departments came from and what a clinical trial protocol and all the other documents related to clinical research might mean in practice, I took the opportunity to participate in a Course of Clinical Trial Management at the University of Applied Sciences, Berlin and graduated as a Master of Science in 2005. Since 2006 I have worked in clinical operations, first as a CRA, then as a Senior CRA and then as a Lead CRA (Local Project Manager) for Sticares InterACT, a CRO specialized in cardiovascular indications. In August 2014 I joined Quintiles GmbH as a Senior CRA and was able to expand my knowlege of indications to include immunology and oncology. In January 2016 I joined PSI CRO as a Senior CRA.
