About Karin Pfister

I am an innovative instructional designer specializing in translating text-based "boring" content into personalized, engaging, interactive, outcomes-based digital learning experiences - all while having fun doing it! I love designing and facilitating professional development trainings, both face to face and online. I have 28 years' experience in education, including 10+ years' award-winning experience in corporate and higher education. While being accustomed to working collaboratively on energetic teams, I maintain a high level of independent motivation and work ethic when working as a remote/virtual employee. I have always been passionate about the use of technology to enhance engagement and help learners readily achieve learning outcomes- making the learning "stick". I am highly experienced in re-envisioning and redeveloping existing courses to increase engagement and achievement, and especially enjoy gathering baseline data to compare to post-project results and anecdotal feedback. That feeling of success from actually seeing increased learner engagement and retention is very rewarding! I have a proven track record of highly accomplished classroom teaching and of successfully developing and managing education projects. I have been known for overcoming adversity through creative problem solving and injecting fun into difficult situations. My collaborative, inclusive and flexible work style with highly developed communication and relationship building skills are a definite asset for any work team. I always strive to capitalize on the FUN-factor as a motivator and subscribe to a MAKE THEIR DAY philosophy!
