About Karin Raj

C-level technology industry leader, General Manager and Board Director. I bring a unique blend of strong business acumen with a solid technical foundation and am a clear and effective communicator. I have held leading positions in global companies as well as fast-growing scale-ups, with an emphasis on markets such as the USA, China, India, France, Turkey and the Nordics. My work has spanned a variety of fields e.g. telecom and satcom, semiconductors and photonics, AI and IoT, sensors and nanotech, and high-precision micro-mechanics. My view of technology is purely holistic - it’s a vehicle for creating genuine value for individuals and societies. I have led the entire sequence from conceptualization of products and professional services, development of IP strategies and technology platforms, to financial modeling, B2B sales, and raising of capital. In addition, I have also managed customer accounts with full P&L responsibility. I have a talent for discovering and unlocking new market segments and steering the portfolio over time by exploiting macro patterns like climate change, energy efficiency and regulatory frameworks that provide strong momentum when harnessed. Having been at the forefront of the mobile revolution during two industry cycles (2G/3G + 4G/5G) has given me first-hand experience of major technology shifts and the opportunities and challenges such transitions present. While my career has been largely sales and business development focused, in the last few years I have realigned my priorities to be more technology oriented. A deep understanding of emerging and enabling technologies is increasingly crucial to identify and exploit commercial opportunities arising from these. I am particularly enthusiastic about advances in AI, Industry 4.0, and the transition to fossil-free energy production. At present, I serve on the Boards of Sivers Semiconductors AB (a semiconductor house on the absolute leading-edge of photonics and wireless technologies that addresses the Internet traffic growth), Zamin Sweden AB (a mining company specializing in high-grade iron ore essential to green steel production), and the EMEA Leadership Council of Global Semiconductor Alliance. I keep a sharp focus on results and deliverables, while approaching others with an open and curious attitude. Building and nurturing long-term relationships based on mutual trust is important to me - and the key to repeat business. I strongly believe in fostering teamwork and an inclusive workplace culture based on sound values, and I strive to bring fresh perspectives to the team.
