Background
About Karin Talas
Most experience has been in working with students who are blind or visually impaired. I have experience and still hold certification as a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (teaching travel skills), and have taught high school English to students in special education, both with learning disabilities and visually impaired. Last position before current position was as a Supervising Teacher (Associate Principal duties), and now am responsible for facilitating all IEP and MET meetings on campus, providing training and guidance to staff on special education law and everything IEP/MET involved, and ensuring that all IEP/MET documents are compliant. I have also presented as a guest lecturer at the local University on IEPs and special education law, and writing measurable goals and objectives/benchmarks.
