About Karl Berzitis

I’m an industrial chemist with over 10 years of experience working with surfactant systems in the cleaning and coating industries. I have a keen interest in formula development – investigating new ideas and technology for implementation into market-viable products. It’s always enjoyable to work collaboratively with other departments to see an innovative concept through the different phases of formulating, testing, production planning, finance, and marketing to arrive at a new product available for customers. In my current role, I manage all functions of the laboratory in the development and quality control of industry-leading car care chemicals for the commercial car wash industry. Since starting as a lab technician, I have established an effective Quality Control program, expanded lab testing capabilities, fostered compliant regulatory practices, and contributed to all aspects of product development. As manager, I work closely with upper management to direct research and development, oversee quality assurance, and mentor and train lab staff. I have an in-depth knowledge of chemical regulation, with experience in GHS regulations (CAN, US, EU, AUS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG, DOT, ADR, IATA, IMDG), SDS authoring, product labelling, REACH, various environmental/wastewater regulations, and Ecologo certifications (UL, Nordic Swan).
