About Karl Hillgren

Building up a new organization I started in the asphalt lab of AkzoNobel 20 years ago and since then I have had an exciting time with a great variety of roles, everything from Lab assistant to Sales manager to Global Innovation Manager. The work has included a lot of traveling to all parts of the world. The most interesting time was when I moved to Singapore for 5 years to create an organization for the Asia region which included setting up a sales organization in the whole of Asia and also set up two laboratories. During these 5 years the sales tripled and it was an interesting experience to live and work in another culture. What I do now A few years back I joined another business within AkzoNobel, Lubes and fuels additives. Having spent 20 years in one industry, asphalt, and then completely change to a new industry was challenging and also interesting. I started as an account manager in Europe and have since taken on the roles of Global Key account Manager and Global Marketing Manager. These are the two roles a currently have.
