Karl is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, he has gained considerable experience in senior leadership roles within the field of Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Employer’s Agent and other Account Lead roles.Karl is an experienced professional in the industry working for both contracting and consultant side allowing to appreciate the construction processes and gaining understanding of regulations and contracts including, JCT, NEC, FIDIC, ICE and various forms of other bespoke contracts. Karl has attained vast experience in working in multiple sectors and has a reputation of providing excellent client service. He enjoys working towards, a proactive commercial function, working closely involved in site works and management of programmes to drive down costs and realise opportunities.Key Responsibilities / Experience-•Management of other quantity surveyors and commercial employees.•Manage and build collaborative relationships with clients and suppliers •Production of monthly CVR’s.•Being the key client interface for all commercial matters.•Understand and use various forms of contract / subcontracts.•Manage production of Employers requirements and Contractors proposals, contract documents in conjunction with employers agent.•Dealing with pre and post contract procedures.•Supporting commercial trainee surveyors and hosting/running technical training courses for junior surveyors.•Compiling of subcontract enquiry list.•Completion of subcontract orders including pre commencement meetings.•Price variations and prepare project final accounts.•Subcontract payments and subcontract control. •Carry out interim valuations of work.•Production of Interim valuations and liabilities cost to date.•Internal cost vs value exercises.•Payment for weekly direct labour.•Monitoring and ordering of materials.•Attend/chair design team meetings.•Producing of cost models. •Project procurement and analysis.•Cash flow forecasting.•Health and safety management.•Identifying areas of cost risk including mitigation measures.•Manage Programming to drive down costs and realise opportunities.• Chair/lead contract reviews.•Monitoring and obtaining rebates through material suppliers.•Attend tender interviews.
