To continue to expand and broaden my experience as a professional seafarer and Deck Officer. To help enhance the awareness of my colleagues and shipmates in the changing and ever present need for a safety culture. The emphasis on my core belief is safety of life at sea. As a senior Deck Officer (currently holding the position of Deputy Captain on Queen Mary 2) I am in a position of great influence on the ship as I am head of department for the deck department, which includes the bridge, deck maintenance, safety and security teams. I have over 17 years of seagoing experience.
