About Karla Bishop

Hi there, I'm Karla Bishop, the President of BVW, a company committed to providing a safe space and platform for black women veterans to connect with companies and organizations committed to hiring them, as well as to provide training, networking opportunities, and other resources to help them succeed in the workforce. With over 10 years of experience in the healthcare field and a CNA certification, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my role as a Staffing Director at BVW. I am committed to assisting black veteran women in finding fulfilling careers in the healthcare industry. At BVW, I lead the staffing and placement department, working with facilities to place veterans and provide training in the healthcare field. As the President, I also work closely with the other co-founders to develop and implement the company's overall strategy and direction. My key responsibilities at BVW include managing the placement and resource department, recommending potential training opportunities for veterans, securing facility contracts, identifying and mitigating any potential issues with placements or contracts, and leading the company as a whole. My extensive experience in the healthcare field, combined with my passion for assisting black veteran women, make me an asset to the BVW team. My skills in leadership, planning, and communication have helped me to successfully run and manage one of the most important parts of the company. My CNA certification gives me a strong background in the healthcare field, and I'm proud to use that knowledge to help our veterans find meaningful careers.
