About Karla Lopez

The most important role I have as an educator has been and will continue to be developing character while enriching the minds of my students so they may be prepared for a successful college, career and life experience. These twenty years of teaching experience have afforded me the opportunity to teach in Middle, High School and Colligate levels. I have taught every subject in the social sciences as well as Education Courses for the College of Education at Florida International University (FIU). I have held Administrative positions such as Dean of Discipline and Coordinator and Lead Educator of the FIU Teaching Academy at the High School level. I excel when immersed in a fast-paced, multicultural setting dedicated to the safety, growth and perseverance of student academic and social-emotional achievement. I posses a positive and enthuthiastic attitude compounded with excellent communication skills that make me an effective team player and self-starter who works diligently until the tasks are completed properly and to the best of my ability! I am a speaker of four languages (English, Spanish, French, Italian), and inclusive of all cultures.
