About Karlea Phillips

With over three years of experience in continuous improvement and lean management, I am passionate about optimizing the way teams work within their own Operating Systems. As a Continuous Improvement Lead at BHP, I worked with various stakeholders across the BMA Coal portfolio, building leadership capabilities, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting my customers to achieve operational excellence. I am motivated by the challenge of delivering value to the business and the people, and I bring diverse perspectives and experiences from my previous roles in different departments and sites.In my previous roles I leveraged my skills in project planning and execution, people leading and risk and change management to facilitate the deployment and implementation of Lean Operating methods in the warehouses and operational sites in the QLD Bowen Basin. I have worked with Managers, Superintendents and their teams, coaching them through the change journey and empowering them to adopt the lean practices and principles that encompass Operational Excellence. Whilst also playing an active role in displaying and embodying the desired culture and behaviours.
