About Karsten Paul

I am a computational engineer in the sweet spot between mechanical engineering, computer science and mathematics. I have a passion for numerical modeling and work in interdisciplinary teams. After my studies, I decided to work in an international research training group, not only to get a doctoral degree, but to experience how it’s like to employ the methods I learned during my studies. In that time, I learned to familiarize myself with several unknown research topics and ways to tackle problems in science and academia. Now, I want to use my knowledge and skills for problems from industry. Among all the numerical methods I developed during my professional career, which I presented on international conferences and in scientific journals, I spent a lot of time to develop soft skills, especially in the fields of leadership competence, conflict management, project management and presentations. During my time at the university, I always worked in international and interdisciplinary teams, which I enjoyed a lot. Next to work, I have a huge passion for marathons and black-and-white pencil drawings. I’m always looking for new problems to solve.
