About Kasara Smith

Property Management is my profession and my passion. That passion is reflected in the high standards I expect from myself and my team as we manage Class A and Trophy buildings for Cushman & Wakefield in some of the most high profile areas in Washington, DC. I believe—and build my team in the belief—that superior property management requires financial intelligence, resourcefulness, and a commitment to working productively with tenants, owners, vendors, and employees. For Class A and Trophy buildings, property management extends beyond facilities maintenance to embrace operations management, skillful relationship building with tenants and owners, the negotiation of leases and contracts, and the ability to handle multimillion-dollar capital improvements and renovations. With the team that I have recruited and mentored at Cushman & Wakefield, I have received multiple awards for leadership, management excellence, and tenant satisfaction. But I place equal importance on mentoring others in professional property management and on growing the profession through my executive role at the Institute of Real Estate Management. In the industry, Kasara Smith is known as a take-charge property manager who: Drives thousands of dollars in annual savings through negotiations with vendors and collaborations with the community. Uses technology to improve the safety and efficiency of Class A office buildings. Sets up processes and procedures for teams that focus on identifying, anticipating, and quickly rectifying tenant and client issues. Researches, prepares, and implements multi-million-dollar annual budgets encompassing both operating expenses and capital improvements.
