Background

About Kashmere Harper

As a first-generation PhD student in Applied Psychology with a concentration in Cognitive & Behavioral Neuroscience, I am passionate about bridging research and clinical practice to uncover how trauma and behavior shape the brain. My academic and professional experiences center on cognitive neuroscience, neuropsychology, EEG/ERP research, and behavioral health, with a growing focus on translational science that connects laboratory discoveries to real-world mental health outcomes.I am deeply committed to advancing culturally responsive neuroscience research that illuminates the effects of epigenetic trauma and promotes equitable mental health solutions. My long-term goal is to contribute to the field of neuroscience by investigating the neural substrates, brain circuitry, and cognitive mechanisms underlying psychiatric conditions and trauma, while translating complex brain-behavior science into meaningful interventions that change lives, reduce disparities, and expand access to care.
