About Kasra Behzad

I am a lecturer-researcher currently working on MEMS device development, with a focus on modelling, testing and probing at the wafer level. Our current project brings together a team of engineers, researchers, and industrial partners to develop production test methods for MEMS, ferroelectric tunnel junctions (FTJs), and PZT-based chips. The core objective of our work is to evaluate and predict the functionality of micro-devices at the front-end stage—before packaging and integration—directly on the wafer. By developing testing and probing strategies and simulation models, we aim to bridge the gap between design and reliability, enabling faster and more cost-efficient validation of components. This contributes to streamlining production, reducing waste, and accelerating the time to market for complex microsystems. My background in Materials Science and Applied Physics, along with hands-on experience in microfabrication and device testing, has shaped me into a result-oriented and analytical professional with a drive to deliver practical solutions. I thrive in environments where innovation meets application, and where collaborative efforts lead to measurable outcomes. I am continuously exploring new tools and technologies to enhance my skills and contribute to high-impact, purpose-driven R&D. I enjoy working on projects that require a systems-level perspective, from material behaviour to final product performance, always keeping customer needs and real-world functionality in mind.
