About Kat Baldwin

Kat Baldwin has walked the tightrope between the Arts and the Military for the past twenty years and has managed to maintain balance long enough to throw in a few qualifications, acting gigs, deployments, volunteering opportunities and foster kittens along the way. She has also, thankfully, maintained her (very dry) sense of humour. Kat emerged from the womb thinking strategically. That’s what got her a pony, rather than a violin, for her eighth birthday. It’s also what saw her join the Navy out of high school, rather than going to drama school (plenty of drama in the Navy, by the by). Kat is a creative at heart, but also thrives in focused, disciplined, high-tempo and high-stakes environments. She is at her best collaborating with others to achieve meaningful, win-win outcomes. She delivers excellence when feelings and logic can coexist and where her ambi-vert nature is allowed to self-regulate. Kat relishes in thinking differently and taking the road less travelled. She loves developing meaningful connections and helping others get after the things they really want in life. After all, it’s not a dress rehearsal. She was raised to say ‘yes’ to every opportunity, but has since learned the art of discernment and the power in saying ‘no’ to the good to say ‘yes’ to the great. A lover of words, aesthetics, the outdoors, exploring why things are the way they are, and being out of her comfort zone, Kat may have been a homicide detective, a journalist or a veterinarian, if she’d had a few more lives up her sleeve. Kat can spell ‘mathematics’, but doesn’t enjoy it. She loves deep conversations, excellent coffee, and laughing until she cries. She is unapologetic about not fitting in the box. If not at work, Kat can be found up a pole, under a cat or behind a book. She is otherwise keeping herself out of trouble by writing a novel and learning to crochet. Others say she will not die wondering - so far, so good.
