Many people know me as an artist, but I have spent the last two decades working in the luxury interior design business. Recently I have joined the wonderful world of real estate. My experience as an artist, educator and designer give me a unique creative edge. My organizational skills and design background will make life easy when it comes to preparing your home to sell. For new buyers I will help you to envision a property’s potential and make your new home dreams a reality. Art • Design Kat is an accomplished designer of venetian plaster and other decorative treatments for the home or commercial applications, including but not limited to venetian plaster, venetian plaster with stenciled decorative pattern, faux bois, faux finish, wall stenciling, hand lettering and graphic design Interior Design work with Peter F. Carlson & Associates, Lyme, CT + NYC. Decorative painting with David Carter, London Interior Design work with Victoria Dryden, CT She has worked on commercial and residential projects in London, New York, Dallas, Boston, Fishers Island Watch Hill, Hollywood and many local Connecticut towns. ART Kat uses multiple painting mediums, collage and line drawing to create intricate color-rich surfaces; techniques such as encaustic, venetian plaster, collage, dutch metal and acrylic. Pop culture, repetitive pattern, and line drawing inform her paintings. Art studies include RISD, Print Design, the International Institute Madrid Spain, School of Fine Art at Boston University, founding member and former Artist in Residence at Hygienic Art, New London, CT and a fellowship at Griffis and Orpheus Foundation, Bulgaria. In addition, she was a draftsman on the Sol LeWitt "Wall Drawing #1196" at the New Britain Museum of American Art.
