About Katara McCarty

Katara is a force of nature in the well-being and empowerment of Black Women. As the Founder & CEO of Exhale, she has showcased a unique blend of leadership insight and compassionate outreach, charting new pathways for inclusive growth. But Katara's true magnum opus lies in her brainchild – the Exhale App. Recognizing Black Women's often-neglected mental and emotional well-being needs, she crafted an innovative app that serves as a sanctuary, offering tools and resources tailored specifically to uplift, empower, and support. Exhale is an award-winning app in Apps & Software, Health & Fitness for the Webby Awards. It has also been featured twice in the App Store as App of the Day. Katara won the NBA Foundation 2024 All-Star Pitch Competition and is privileged to be in The Highland Projects' inaugural cohort. In 2021, her team was one of MIT Solve's Anti-Racist Technology Solver Teams. Katara is also a Rock Health alum fellow. A gifted orator, Katara takes her passion to stages across the globe as a sought-after keynote speaker. Her eloquence and powerful narratives have captivated audiences, always centering on her life's mission: the unwavering priority of the well-being of Black Women in every facet of their lives.
