About Katariina Ranne

Hi! I am a master’s student in Energy and Process Engineering, with a minor in Data Analytics related studies and a bachelor’s minor in Renewable Electrical Energy Technologies. My academic and professional experiences align with my passion for advancing sustainable energy solutions. I have a keen interest in data analysis and management, particularly related to sustainable energy solutions. I am a fast learner and I thrive on challenging myself to grow and tackle complex problems. At VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, I was a research management trainee in Smart Energy and Built Environment reserach area. I was working with project portfolio data in Excel, supporting and facilitating workshops related to reserach roadmap creation, and creating presentation materials. This role strengthened my skills especially in analytics, facilitation and management. Previously, I worked as a Research Assistant in Photonics at Tampere University, where I gained valuable interdisciplinary experience. I developed a keen ability to adapt to new challenges, as I was working and learning a lot out of my field of study. By combining technical skills with a data-driven mindset, I aspire to contribute to innovative solutions for global energy challenges.
