About Katarina Eckerberg

Still open for limited expert assignments and advice relating to environmental policy and academic work. My research and teaching over some four decades has evolved around the politics of environment and sustainable development, including evaluation and comparative studies across Europe relating to urban and rural development, innovation policy, climate change, forest and agriculture policy, nature conservation, water governance and ecological restoration. My research interests span over local, regional, national and international environmental governance issues in the above focus areas. Previously I was Deputy Director for Stockholm Environment Institute, and worked at the FAO Community Forestry Unit in Rome. I have been visiting scholar at University of Cambridge, London School of Economics and Cardiff University. My publication record includes some 70+ peer-reviewed articles and edited books and book chapters, plus another 100+ research reports, popular science and policy oriented publications. I have vast experience from high-level advisory councils, research councils in many countries, numerous expert assignments within evaluation of academic research posts and transdisciplinary research and speaking at and organizing international conferences related to sustainable development policy of all kinds.
