About Katarina Kane

As a Research Assistant for the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging at Bruyère, I contribute to the understanding of the determinants of healthy aging by conducting health and well-being interviews with participants aged 45-91. I also explore the impacts of Covid-19 on their experiences and outcomes. I am pursuing my MSc Public Health degree at King's College London, specializing in epidemiology, and applying my skills and knowledge to analyze and interpret data, design and evaluate interventions, and communicate findings and recommendations. My passion for health equity and social justice drives me to seek opportunities to improve the health and well-being of diverse and underserved populations. In my previous roles, I demonstrated my communication, interpersonal, and organization skills, as well as my ability to work with different stakeholders and partners. For example, as a Research Assistant for the Prevora Project at Bruyère, I recruited and assessed eligible participants for a dental treatment study, and as the VP of External Affairs at The Art for Change, I helped to provide a creative outlet for self-expression and mental health awareness. I have also obtained multiple certifications and honors, such as the B2 Delf French Proficiency, the Health Equity Impact Assessment, and the Valedictorian Award. I am eager to learn from diverse and experienced professionals in the team, and to contribute to the research and policy development in the field of public health.
