About Katarzyna Makarucha

The laboratory is my second home. My analytical thinking combined with the ability to learn quickly and a curiosity for continuous exploration has allowed me to gain a good experience as a quality analyst. I do not mind what type of product I work with and what the method for its analysis is. I enjoy the whole process, but it is the final result that matters. Ever since I remember, I have always had the desire to constantly make things better. Luckily, Lab management has given me the possibility for continuous improvement to make mine and my team's work easier and more efficient. Constantly working on myself and knowing my own abilities allows me to maximize my potential at work and anywhere else. My top 3 strengths are Learner, Intellection and Analytical (according The Clifton Strengths - Gallup). My weaknesses, that I am working hard on, are perfectionism and impatience. My passion is food. Yes, I also love to eat good,'real' food, but I am more into it on the chemical side. I am a healthy food freak (but in a reasonable way). I am interested in the formulation and nutritional content of food and try to expand my knowledge in this field. I have a personal project where I research and create new recipes based on natural ingredients only and without artificial additives. Privately I am a mother of two smart and beautiful daughters, wife and the owner of the cleverest dog - Coffee (Tibetan Terrier). I love travelling. Together with my family we choose our destinations based on the type of cuisine. It's just our little thing. In my free time I work on my personal project (Katie's CakeLand), where I give expression to my wide range of creativity (baking, cooking, photography, handcraft, graphic design). Sometimes, if there is a need, I enjoy designing functional kitchens and bathrooms. In summary, I am an everyday person who becomes unique by developing my skills and gaining additional experience.
