I started working for Department of Transport in 2019 soon after I graduated high school. I was first a Marine Trainee, where I gained valuable skills in the maritime industry and obtained my coxswains grade 1 qualification through Tafe. In 2021 I become a permanent Marine officer where I continued to develop my skills and knowledge in not just maritime but also within an office setting, having opportunities to act in other various roles. Marine Officers have a wide variety of responsibilities and our job can change from day to day. As well as compliance, I also maintain signage, complete various mooring jobs, provide support to other businesses units in maritime, participate in search and rescue operations and I am a part of the state response team for oil spill pollution.
