Background
About Kate Baggott
A long time internet content and communications specialist, I am currently Communications Officer for the Department of Economics, University of Toronto. Like most of my generation of digital natives, we invented our jobs. Copy writing and content became social media posts, AI dialogues and scripts. Every day is still exciting. I currently work as content manager and head of communications for an EdTech startup where course writing, pitches, press releases and thought leadership articles are all part of my day. While my full time position requires both B2B and B2C outreach, my primary career focus is on B2B. I maintain my freelance practice for special projects like grant writing for the not-for-profit sector, white papers and case studies, and technology journalism. I have always split my time between industry and academia to maintain my enthusiasm for what comes next with a keen sense of where we've been, best practices, business ethics and sound research. Recent projects from the past 12 months include: • Thought leadership editorial, press releases, social media posts and content marketing materials for an international EdTech startup called Edusity • A major white paper about national and international healthcare data privacy regulations that app developers in the sector must understand and abide by for IdeaWorks at Mohawk College • Content marketing to celebrate the successes of entrepreneurs who have graduated from programs offered by the Mississauga Business Enterprise Centre • Grant applications for industrial-academic partnerships as well as for the not-for-profit sector • Technology journalism and business journalism for the B2B News Network Contact me to talk more about your own content, content marketing and communications needs.
