About Kate Bentley

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and clinical scientist committed to advancing mental healthcare and suicide prevention through science-backed approaches. I have over a decade of experience leading federally-funded research and interdisciplinary teams focused on designing, testing, and scaling interventions to support people at risk for suicide and related outcomes. At Spring Health, I drive research initiatives focused on detecting and responding to risk in digital, including AI-enabled, mental health tools. My work centers on leveraging rigorous science and clinical best practices to advance the safety and quality of digital mental health innovations. Previously, I was Director of the Suicide Prevention Research Program at the MGH Center for Precision Psychiatry and an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, where I developed and evaluated scalable psychological interventions for suicide prevention.
